HOUSTON HIGHTLIFE - HOUSTON BARS, PUBS, CLUBS

Houston Nightlife, Bars, Clubs, PubsHouston Nightlife - Imagine collapsing in the bed at your hotel after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. You know that you should be exhausted but something is stirring inside of you. Something outside your window is beckoning you to come out and party . It is the bright neon lights of the Houston nightlife calling you out to have a good time. A night out on the town in Houston can be anything that you want it to be. It can be wild and crazy at one of the city's hotspots or it can be laidback at a quiet, tucked away martini bar.

No matter what your taste, you will be able to find a club, pub, or bar for the best Houston Nightlife. Feel like dancing? How about listening to some live music? Every part of town has something fun for the adults to do, from the sports bars in the south to the trendy nightspots downtown to the latino discos in the north, Houston is a mecca for entertainment. But, always remember to designate a driver or call a cab after a night of drinking. The legal alcohol limit in Texas has dropped to .008, which is about two drinks per hour for an average sized person. Houston Police are rightfully brutal on drunk drivers and you will go to jail, face a fine and suspension of your license. So while in Houston, have a good time, but do so responsibly or pay the consequences.

Mercury Room. 1008 Prairie Street.
This trendy downtown nightspot is a place to see and be seen. The atmosphere is elegant/trendy/chic and the live jazz, blues and swing is loud and classy. Have a martini while lounging on the pillowed couches, or go downstairs into the dimly lit VIP lounge with its leather seats and booming singles scene. Are you a cigar fanatic? The large humidor carries 35 flavors for your choosing.

Prive. 910 Westheimer.
This crowded club is a great place to go for happy hour or later. It offers a casual, artsy, lounge atmosphere filled with people in their twenties and thirties who maybe straight or gay. Enjoy the acid jazz or dance to the house music while enjoying a great drink special.

Rudyard's British Pub. 2010 Waugh.
If you would rather have an ice cold brew than a fancy mixed drink, this is the place for you. Enjoy the many flavors of beer on tap, including Fat Tire. They have darts and pool for your pleasure and live indie music bands to listen to. This friendly neighborhood bar is a great place to go to relax and have a good time.

Seabrook Beach Club. 3345 Nasa Road 1.
Located on Clear Lake south of Houston, if you are single and looking for people to party with, this club is a must see. It has 20 televisions for the sports minded, a large swimming pool, swim up bar, and volleyball net. The beach atmosphered club is surrounded by palm trees and will remind you of that one summer you spent in Cancun. On any given night, come and sing Karaoke if you dare, or listen to the live bands that rotate through the bar. They offer an extensive menu that you can enjoy day and night.

Numbers. 300 Westheimer.
This Montrose nightspot has been a staple on the alternative music scene for many years with good reason. It is the best place to go to if you want to hear acts that are just bursting out onto the scene, or have already been out. They are a dance music club, alot of 80's retro and underground music. While dancing the night away to American Soviets or Ministry, the bartenders will mix you up some drinks that will fuel you until the bar closes when the sun comes up. The bar's motto is " No dress code, no waitresses, no valet, no attitude." Live by that while you are here and you will have a good time.

Helios. 411 Westheimer.
An avante- garde artist owns this one of a kind jewel. It is apparent in the decor that consists of molds of her legs, face and breasts. The architecture of the two story house is somewhat gothic, but don't let that fool you. This bar offers more than just live music and unique, tasty drinks. You can view performance art, dance pieces, puppet shows and even wrestling matches while enjoying the ambience.
