HOUSTON KEMAH BOARDWALK HOUSTON TEXAS TX

Houston Kemah Boardwalk Houston Kemah Boardwalk - Houston is a lively town that anyone can enjoy. But perhaps you would like to step out of the hectic big city life with it's congested freeways and head somewhere that is a little slower paced but just as exciting. Go on down 1-45 south to Nasa Road 1 and head east. You will dead end into the tiny, picturesque hamlet of Kemah, Texas, nestled in between Clear Lake and Galveston Bay. Kemah is lovely and quiet with little to no crime. On the bay just under the Kemah Bridge is the Boardwalk.

The Boardwalk has something entertaining for everyone. If you love to shop and can't resist the urge, Kemah has specialty retail shops where you can buy anything from surfer apparel to one of a kind, beautiful Christmas decorations. Antique shops are in abundance and on the weekends, the Back Bay Market is a fun place to shop for crafts and unique flea market finds.

Kids and their parents will love the 35 acre amusement park atmosphere on the Kemah Boardwalk. It has a 36 foot carousel, 65 foot ferris wheel, a miniature passenger train and a high speed boat ride called Joe's Boardwalk Beast. Walk out on the midway and you can test your knowledge and strength with the many games that are available.

On weekends, the Kemah Boardwalk is alive with musical acts and festivals. During the summer you can enjoy the Rock the Dock outdoor concert series or the Jazz Festival. Boo on the Boardwalk is alot of fun during October and Christmas in Kemah starts in late November with a boat parade in December. Of course, no outing anywhere in the Houston area would be complete without lunch or dinner in one of the restaurants. Kemah has ten, including seafood, Mexican, a steak house, pizzeria and a coffee house. You can eat indoors in the beautifully decorated establishments or outdoors on the patios where you can enjoy your meal while watching the sail boats flutter out into Galveston Bay.
