Houston TexasSpace Center Houston - When you were a child, did you ever fantasize about becoming an astronaut? More than likely, life led you into a different career path.But at Space Center Houston, inner astronauts young and old alike can nurture that dream with adventures that seem like science fiction. Located south of Houston in the Clear Lake area, a thirty minute drive from downtown will lead you into a space odyssey. Space buffs will be thrilled with the $70 million, 180,000 square foot facility.

You can tour the Nasa Official Visitors Center and see actual spacecraft including the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space capsules or see what it is like to walk in space in a space simulator. You can also experience a simulated space voyage, touch control panels and watch eductional and entertaining documenteries on Texas's largest giant screen theater with. At the Kid's Space Place, children can view and take part in interactive exhibits and see what it is like to live on a space station. Before you leave, stop in at the gift shop for unique souvenirs, including a mars rock!

While touring the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center you can see flight hardware and astronaut memorabilia. The center for astronaut training and mission control, at the Space Center Houston, visitors can experience the past, present and future of space exploration.
